Yesterday's Appointment
What a GREAT appointment! The nurses were awsome, the 3rd year res who did my pap and ultrasound was awsome, and the doc was awesome too!!!! Im VERY happy!
They took so much time to sit and BS around with me. WONDERFUL bedside mannors, great sense of humor, and very accomodating. They did an u/s (abdominal not vaginal) and while I didn't get pics (they didnt give me any and I didn't ask), I did see a nice heartbeat and the baby's head..YAY! She said the baby is healthy and that the spotting is NOT pregnancy related.
She did a pap and found that I have a fried spot on my cervix (from the LEEP) and it's soo tender. OUCH! She said that's the cause of my bleeding. She did a couple cultures of it and then checked my cervix in depth. It's 1.5cm short.. EEK!
Good news is that they are doing the cerclage. I go in on Halloween for pre-op stuff and then the surgery is on November 13th (don't know the exact time though). That was my grandmothers birthday. I just know she'll be there with me in spirit. They're gonna do a spinal and then stitch me.
Im still on pelvic rest but only penetration. We can do "other" things though.. HELL YEAH!!! Im also allowed to exercise (tennis, pilates, etc).
I asked about the "big u/s" and if they would be willing to do that the week before x-mas, since i'll be 17 weeks. He said "well, the problem with that is at 17 weeks you don't always catch everything you're looking for. Yes, we can tell the sex of the baby then, but we cant tell if there are any deformities at that point." He also said "the cost of those ultrasounds are upwards of $300 a piece and most insurances wont pay for it more then once. If you want, when you come in, tell them you want an ultrasound to determine the sex of the baby on the regular ultrasound machine. They'll accomodate you". YAY!!!! That means i'll be able to find out for x-mas. What a gift huh?!?!
More good news. They changed my due date. They're staying with the date of my period. That puts my due date at May 24th, and im 8weeks 6 days pregnant as of today!.
DAMN RIGHT!!!!!!
