UGH! More to worry about..
Well, 3 nights ago, I had some SERIOUS pain going on. The first time this happened (a few weeks ago) I thought it was a TERRIBLE case of indigestion. This time around, I found out that I was wrong.
I woke up around 2:30am with the sweats. I stripped into my bra and panties, turned the fan on high and laid on top of my covers. About 20 minutes later I woke up again from the worst pain EVER! It rapidly progressed to severe and excrutiating. The pain went from my rib cage to my back (below my shoulder blades). I couldn't catch my breath. I was hyperventilating.
I decided to take a warm bath (As this usually helps with pain) but it made it worse..probably due to me sweating. So, I turned the bath on cold and let it run. I laid in ice cold water on all fours and rocked back and fourth, moaning and panting. I couldn't catch my breath. I felt like I was having a heart attack.....then the dry heaves started. After a wicked round of dry heaving, I started getting the chills. I was shaking so badly.
Once the pain subsided (about 40 minutes later), I was still panting and trying to catch my breath. I laid in bed shaking with the chills.
The next day I decided to post about it on IDOB and one of the girls there mentioned something just like that happening to her. Turned out to be a gallbladder attack. Well, I went online and started searching gallbladder attacks and sure enough, EVERY symptom I had, fit!
I called my doctors office but the nurse was no help. She said there's nothing she can do for me. After a while I called labor and delivery and spoke with a nurse there (who consulted with one of the doctors). They told me that if it happens again, immediatly get to the ER. They're give me something for the pain but will also be able to diagnose me officially. She pretty much confirmed that what I had was in fact a gallbladder attack and surgery may be needed. If so, im fine with it. I have no use for my gallbladder, and I sure don't wanna experience that pain again. I literally though I was having a heart attack. It was the worst!
I pray it doesn't happen again, but if it does, im prepaired to rush to the ER. In the meantime, I have to stay away from fried/greasy foods, and dairy. I think I can do that.
